Job Description:
Currently, Recruitment BBC HR Direct are seeking for qualified candidates to join their Dakar team in the position of Office Manager, BBC Afrique. This opportunity is a Full Time, Contract position to be based in Dakar, Senegal.
Responsibilities:
You will provide comprehensive support to the BBC Dakar office team in all aspects of business and administration. Acting as central point of contact for all queries, you will manage relations with internal and external parties, deal with financial and accountancy matters, resolve production problems and register journalistic accreditations.
The post involves working with the business and marketing departments of the BBC. Relevant office management experience demonstrating the full range of administrative and secretarial skills is essential. You will be fluent in French and capable to communicate effectively in English (both verbal and written). Experience of working in a media environment is an advantage.
Candidate Requirements:
The ideal candidate should fulfill the following requirements:At least 12 years of working experience in a related field. Possess a Phd and above from a recognized institution. Fluency in English will be essential.
JOB PURPOSE
To provide comprehensive support to the BBC Dakar office team in all aspects of business and administration. To facilitate the professional and smooth-running operation of the BBC office. To act as central point of contact for all queries internally and externally.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Office
Manage and arrange servicing of the office with contracted partners (lawyers, landlord, accountants, insurance, postage, telephone, internet service provider, newsagents, cleaners, IT, transport, security, etc.)
Oversee the administration of the BBC Dakar office
Ensure all defective equipment is repaired or replaced as soon as possible so as not to infringe on the smooth running of the office
Order and maintain levels of stationery and production materials, organising the archive and music libraries when necessary
Assist the accountants, as required, in the preparation of local statutory accounts and cooperate with them over the provision of payroll and other financial services
Act as first point of contact for all contributors, artists and agents. To deal with inquiries from listeners and organisations; along with receiving visitors appropriately
Work with Marketing on PR activities in the target area.
Undertake Health and Safety supervision of the office and complete reports on request
Regularly monitor BBC transmissions. To contact the transmission service provider in case of any disruption, and report the disruption to the Editor
