Description
The Technical Writer is responsible for architecting, authoring, editing, and updating technical documentation within existing Thomson Reuters Healthcare help formats and templates. Deliverables include help files, user manuals, and other supporting materials for Thomson Reuters healthcare software products. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding communicator able to make complex topics clear to a variety of audiences, will have experience establishing writing standards and style guidelines, and will have demonstrated the ability to self-manage large writing projects to on-time completion.
- Author and maintain software help files, installation guides, training materials and other materials as needed to support product deployments - Work with business managers, training staff, subject matter experts, and other technical writers to identify and meet the documentation needs of clients. - Review business requirements for new and existing product releases and develop update plans for technical documentation - Self-manage documentation projects to on-time completion - Gather, prioritize and carry out updates and corrections to technical documentation - Follow and edit writing standards and style guides for technical documentation

Qualifications
- Experience writing technical documentation for software products is required• - Demonstrated ability to self-manage projects to on-time completion - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Experience managing large documentation projects is highly desirable - Ability to analyze and document complex technical jobs in a way that meets the needs of both novice and experienced users - Flare and/or RoboHelp proficiency preferred; screen capture tools and Microsoft Word including the use of styles and macros required - Ability to flourish in a challenging environment, set priorities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams - Familiarity with healthcare industry - Experience with testing methodologies to ensure technical accuracy and usability - Interest in or experience with usability - Travel required less than 10% per year - Bachelor's Degree, and or certification in English Journalism Information Sciences preffered
