Overview:
Thomson Reuters is looking for an experienced, highly talented editor with deep copy desk experience and proven management skills to serve as deputy chief of a 70-person desk in The Americas. The ideal candidate for this role should be a specialist in long-form journalism; should be able to fine-tune and bullet-proof even closely edited copy; and should be able to coach and inspire other deskers.
Responsibilities:
Upgrade the quality of editing and rewrite across the ever-widening range of Reuters copy; manage and guide desk editors.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- At least 10 years of experience as a journalist, preferably in a copy desk managerial role - Knowledge of and interest in business, economics, finance, politics and American news - from the profoundly serious to the profoundly quirky - Ability to shape a story by asking smart questions, demanding answers, questioning premises, raising legal issues - A love of the English language and a clear talent for improving the writing of others without leaving a footprint
