Description
Project Summary and Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced journalist having excellent English-to-Japanese translation skills and news sense about international news events. The translation desk forms an important part of Reuters' 24-hour news translation service for Japanese-language readers.
Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
The successful candidate must be knowledgeable about global markets, industries and macro economy. He or she must have professional experience in journalism and write Japanese in a clear newsy style with accuracy and speed. Chinese-to-Japanese translating skills also preferable. The position reports to Editor in Charge, World News.

Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Excellent English-to-Japanese translating skills and news style writing skills on global financial/business news. - At least two years of experience as professional translator on economic and financial issues. - Solid knowledge of financial markets, corporate activities and the world economy. - Good working knowledge of English. - Strong commitment to beating the competition. - Good team player. - Full understanding of Reuters editorial requirements - accuracy, speed and balance - as well as Code of Conduct and other ethical standards .
Desired Skills:
Chinese-to-Japanese translating skills.
