Thomson Reuters is looking for an experienced and innovative market analyst to provide real-time commentary and insight of Indian stocks, bonds, currencies and derivatives. S/he will be part of an ambitious team providing in-depth and specialized reporting for domestic and foreign market professionals, including flows, technicals and data. Interest in social media would be a key asset, as the analyst will be expected to contribute to a variety of multimedia platforms. Though s/he will mainly write frequent short-form commentary on Reuters News and trading chatrooms, s/he will also be expected to write blogs, columns, and appear on television/video. The analyst will also be expected to interact with Thomson Reuters clients, whether at special events or through daily coverage.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day short-form commentary and insight on market movements across asset classes - including spotlighting key levels, market talk, or positioning.
- Frequent contributions to Trading India, a busy and engaging chatroom for traders and market professionals.
- Provide additional coverage of Indian markets via blogs, columns and television/video.
- Explore promotional opportunities, via appearances at Thomson Reuters or third-party events, as well as frequent interaction with market professionals via our chatrooms or through daily contact.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years experience covering a particular asset class at a financial institution, whether in trading or research, with familiarity of other markets.
- At least some knowledge of technicals would be an advantage.
- Good contacts in markets will be essential; contacts in central bank/government institutions would be an advantage.
- Must have an interest in multimedia, given the role's emphasis on innovative market journalism.
